53! Essential Functions Responsible for all road operations during shift, including support of fixed route coverage and Proline services.
Consistently display a thorough knowledge and understanding of SARTA’s Code of Conduct, procedures, policies, and routes.
Consistently display Superior Customer Service skills to manage customer complaints and/or suggestions.
Respond safely, effectively, and responsibly to unplanned and emergency situations.
Investigate accidents and write accident reports, driver logs, and other reports as assigned.
Set up and complete temporary route detours and/or alternate routing.
Monitor and respond to radio communication with Coach Operators, Dispatchers, and Road Supervisors.
Complete time point checks.
Assist operators, on a daily basis, with routes and passengers.
Competent utilization of all applicable computer applications such as TrapezeOPs and Microsoft Office Suite.
Work well with high-pressure situations, deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of working information.
Continuously display excellent communication and leadership skills Ability to maintain good public and employee relations.
Ability and willingness to transport passengers and/or employees in any company vehicle, at any time.

Work Environment This job is routinely on the road operating alone.
They also operate in an environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Expected Hours of Work As scheduled.
Must be able to work flexible hours covering all shifts throughout SARTA’s hours of operation.
Travel Little to no overnight travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience Proven work experience in a leadership capacity.
Proven ability to remain calm during tense situations.
Proven ability to demonstrate a passion for engaging with customers while exhibiting the intent to identify and meet the customer’s needs.
High school diploma or GED.
Knowledge of buses and van operations.
Knowledge of Stark County area roadways.
Previous history of excellent record keeping skills.
Proven record of the ability to display effective trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to proficiently operate all SARTA vehicles (if applicant is not currently in possession of a CDL-B with appropriate endorsements, they will be required to obtain a permit, with proper endorsements, prior to beginning employment).
Ability to proficiently operate all SARTA office equipment including: computers, radios, phones, and other office machines.
Preferred Education and Experience Experience working with employees in a Union environment.
Experience in SARTA’s public transportation system.
Knowledge of Trapeze, Avail, & GFI Software and Equipment.
