Position Summary
Under the direction of the President/CEO, the Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day priorities at Polyvision’s New Philadelphia, OH, plant including production, maintenance, engineering, safety & environment, quality, and supply chain management.
Serves as a senior leader of the facility to optimize cost, waste minimalization, quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
Ensures compliance with Company standards and all regulatory compliance including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
Essential Functions Lead the development of the company’s business plan in coordination with senior management and works as a strategic partner to grow the business.
Lead the operation utilizing a spirit of continuous improvement approach.
Manage implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques including quality, cost reduction, complete and on time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls, and plant performance measures.
Effectively manage all plant related deviations to production plan, quality standards, and technical issues.
Brings leadership in materials and inventory management, production scheduling, and preventive maintenance programs.
Maintain a strong cost management approach to leading the business in coordination with the finance team.
Identify, communicate, and drive implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.
Increase the levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials, and machines.
Provide strong leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
Be a leader in building a rich culture by partnering with Human Resources to ensure a positive employee environment.
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities Plan, direct, and coordinate all manufacturing operations of production, machinery, processing, and packaging departments to meet the sales and financial targets.
Ensure that all production line schedules are in accordance with facility capabilities, customer requirements, economic performance, and planning.
Direct and manage the establishment and maintenance of material replenishment methods, quality standards, and performance metrics in support of the organizational goals and objectives.
Determine responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
Budget and manage manufacturing cost structures by developing and maintaining operation expenses within budget allowance and investigate cost-reduction measures.
Create documentation protocols and ensure that all operations records are properly maintained and reviewed.
Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities BA or BS in operations management, business, engineering, or related field; and 7+years’ experience leading people, preferably in a manufacturing/production environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong financial acumen with experience in Microsoft Excel required.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma programs preferred.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 preferred.
Knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
Make decisions and solve problems using sound, inclusive reasoning and judgement.
Proactively anticipate needs and prioritize action steps.
Accurately summarize and interpret data with an awareness of personal biases that may impact outcomes.
Ability to communicate in a professional tone and manner in verbal and written means, body language, and foster an environment for active listening.

Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize assigned work to meet established deadlines.
Proficient with operations and accounting software for manufacturing.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, twist, turn, reach, and bend repeatedly during the day.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
Ability to properly and safely wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
This job operates in a plant environment with exposure to seasonal, but not harmful, temperature changes, overhead lightening, and moderate-to-high noise levels.
