Allied is currently looking for a CNC programmer to provide programs to the shop floor in order to produce special product.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Develop CNC programs for special products, ensuring their readiness for manufacturing production.
Ensure compliance with machining parameters and best practices to reduce tool failures and minimize cycle times.
Focus on cost reduction by optimizing machining practices to minimize cycle time for special products.
Manage ongoing enhancements and process updates for any programs created.
Review and verify CNC programs against design models using appropriate software to ensure accuracy and reduce the likelihood of error that could lead to scrap or rework.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address the root cause of issues that may affect the processing of special tools.
Maintain open communication and peer relationships with all associates involved in the process to promptly address and mitigate any issues that arise, ensuring right-first-time results and on-time delivery.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Strong mathematical skills in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
Organized with attention to detail.
Ability to understand drafting processes and blueprints.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
3 years of experience in a shop environment or formal programming training required.
Technical or vocational degree in machining or related field preferred.
CAD/CAM experience preferred.
Experience with setting up and operating CNC machines preferred.
Experience with FANUC controls preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 32 pounds unassisted.
Ability to work outside of normal working hours as needed.
