SUMMARY: The Facilities Custodian is responsible for the routine, general cleaning of the campus.
Daily responsibility for cleaning, restocking, and maintaining restrooms, kitchens, offices, breakrooms, and other common shared areas.
Must be detail-oriented, energetic, and possess strong skills in cleaning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clean designated building areas, including office and production areas.
Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by emptying the trash, tidying furniture, vacuuming, mopping floors, and dusting surfaces.
Wash and sanitize toilets and sinks, including men’s, women’s, and unisex restrooms, and restock disposables (e.
g.
, soap).
Prioritize and schedule daily cleaning.
Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment.
Perform routine duties such as cleaning walls and scrubbing floors using commercial equipment.
Alerting maintenance concerning the need for repairs.
Stock and maintain supply room.
Work with the purchasing department to sustain a steady supply of disposables.
Attentive to detail and conscientious.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES: A High School diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
One or more years’ experience cleaning in a manufacturing setting.
Able to plan and organize efficiently, set priorities, and manage multiple tasks.
Previous custodial and grounds experience preferred.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies is a plus: integrity and ability to work independently.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Comfortable squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
Ability to walk long distances and perform repetitive tasks; manual dexterity.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to work on some occasions on the production floor.
The work environment involves the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Exposure to noise, dust, heat, and cold regularly.
Exposure to machine and tool hazards requires care and attention to safety rules and standards.
