Maintenance Planner/Supervisor

Canton Drop Forge, a leading producer of large, closed die forgings in Canton, Ohio, is seeking a *Maintenance Planner* to join our team.
The Maintenance Planner reports to the Superintendent – Maintenance, coordinates, and plans maintenance assignments to ensure efficiency throughout our production processes.
This role collaborates heavily with production and maintenance teams, management, and floor supervision to minimize downtime.
*Responsibilities* * *Work Order Planning: *Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to develop and prioritize work orders based on equipment criticality and productions schedules.
Maintain and update accordingly within Maintenance Planning Program, and related reports.
* *Scheduling: *Develop and maintain a master maintenance schedule that aligns with production requirements and priorities.
Modify job priorities based on immediate needs.
Work closely with maintenance team to allocate skilled personnel efficiently.
Utilize shift scheduling and Maintenance Planning Program, MP2.
* *Documentation: *Maintain accurate records and generate reports relating to maintenance activities, including work order completion, downtime, and resource allocation.
Review and monitor departmental employee work records and attendance, collaborating with payroll personnel.
* *Continuous Improvement: *Identify and review opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in the maintenance planning and implementation processes.
Actively participate in post-maintenance analysis to refine future planning and scheduling strategies.
* *Supervision*: Act as a liaison between maintenance personnel and management, utilizing maintenance and equipment expertise.
Oversee daily activities on floor, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, work standards, and collective bargaining agreements.
Address and resolve conflicts or issues as they arise.
* Other duties as assigned.
*Requirements* * Mechanical repair background within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Welding and basic electrical knowledge.
* Self-starter who can work independently and lead others.
* Attention to detail.
* Professional attitude.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to read, analyze and interpret operating instructions, work instructions, and customer procedures.
* Computer skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Ability to interact with associates on the floor and work with diverse work groups.
* Occasional flexibility in work hours and/or overtime may be required.
* Excellent time management and leadership skills.
