Job Title: MIG/TIG Production Welder

The responsibilities listed below are specific to this job:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Follows the guidelines of our production prints to TIG and MIG weld aluminum, carbon steel and/or stainless steel components into simple to complex completed weldments.
2.
Retrieves and sets up all the related fixtures and tooling in the work station.
Sets up and regulates the welding machines to ensure structurally sound welds and returns fixtures and tooling when the job is complete.
3.
Confirms that all weldments conform to the print specifications and ensures that all the accompanying labor and material reporting is complete.
The Production Welder processes a wide array and continually changing assemblage of weldments.
They must be able to interpret production prints, be organized and efficient and maintain their work stations and surrounding area within our 5S guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Continuous Improvement – Continually educating themselves and advancing the safety, quality and/or productivity of processes and products by contributing ideas and observations to the unit evaluations.
· Inventory Control – Reporting labor and materials.
Locating and returning tooling and inventory.
Receiving, storing and monitoring supplies.
· Housekeeping – Keeping the area and the equipment clean.
· Teamwork – Success depends upon our associates’ ability to collaborate to learn, teach, mentor, produce and improve.
· Maintenance – performing visual inspection and all the routine maintenance of the equipment within y their department and/or immediate area.
· Proficiency – An associate’s skills will be reviewed to ensure they remain active and competent in each.
· Training – To become certified in a skill, an associate will be required to complete a specific training program and prove their proficiency in the skill’s requirements.
All setup skills require communicating operating techniques to the succeeding operators.
· Operates lift trucks or hand-trucks to move, convey, or hoist component to or from their work stations.
· Maintains the inventory of welding supplies in a kanban system.
· Other duties may be assigned as required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or GED is required.
A minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Inventory control experience including establishing and maintaining kanbans and a working knowledge of 5S and Lean manufacturing principles is also a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual needs interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
They must communicate clearly and effectively verbally and complete all the associated paper and computer transactions.
They need effective motivation and must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

CONCLUSION
Ideally, associates entering this area will have at least one year of prior M.

G.
and T.
I.
G welding experience or have completed a welding course at a recognized training facility.
They must be able to comprehend blueprints and work instructions and complete our forklift-training program.
At times, this area requires associates work schedules to include weekend and after-hour work assignments.
S/he will be required to travel occasionally for trade shows, seminars, workshops/classes, supplier visits or other related functions.
