*Job Description for Maintenance Supervisor*
*Summary/Objective*
Lead, manage, and motivate staff.
Train and develop subordinates according to company policies and employment laws.
Plan and maintain systems and procedures for operating efficiency.
Manage staff for optimum performance.
*Essential Functions*
* Supervise and lead all maintenance processes and operations during shift, including support of the Maintenance Department, Service Department, Parts Department, and Buildings and Grounds.
* Planning and managing all repair and installation activities.
* Consistently display a thorough knowledge and understanding of SARTA’s Code of Conduct, procedures, policies, and maintenance plans.
* Ensure operational efficiency of equipment and mechanical systems through timely inspection and repair.
* Investigate accidents and write accident reports, logs, and other reports as assigned.
* Competent utilization of all applicable computer applications such as Avail and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Work well with high-pressure situations, deadlines, and maintain the confidentiality of working information.
* Continuously display excellent communication and leadership skills
* Ability to maintain good public and employee relations.
* Maintain maintenance records for the department.
* Assist the Maintenance Manager in overseeing the department.
* Issue work orders and maintain computerized and manual maintenance records.
* Issue parts in the absence of the parts staff.

* **Position Expected Hours of Work*
* Likely 3rd shift.
* *Must be able to work flexible hours covering all shifts throughout SARTA’s hours of operation*.
* **Travel*
* Little to no overnight travel is expected for this position.
* **Required Education and Experience*
* Proven work experience in a leadership capacity.
* Proven ability to remain calm during tense situations.
* High school diploma or GED.
* Previous history of excellent record-keeping skills.
* Proven record of the ability to display effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to proficiently operate all SARTA office equipment including: computers, radios, phones, and other office machines.
*Preferred Education and Experience*
* Experience working with employees in a Union environment.
* Knowledge of buses and van operations.
* Knowledge of heavy vehicle maintenance.
* Bachelor’s degree in business administration, facility management, or a similar field.
* Knowledge of Trapeze, Avail, & GFI Software and Equipment.

*Additional Requirements*
* Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid CDL-B Ohio driver’s license and a good driving record.
* Must maintain a valid DOT Physical in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.
* Maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license and a good driving record.
* Must pass an employment physical examination to be certified for the position and maintain a physical condition which, either with or without accommodation, allows completion of all essential duties.
* Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
* Must be able to lift at least 75lbs.
* Must be able to comply with SARTA’s Drug and Alcohol Policy and function in a drug and alcohol-free work environment.
* Must submit documentation supporting United States citizenship or an alien lawfully authorized to work in the United States in accordance with SARTA’s obligation under the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
* Must pass a criminal background investigation.
