The Nurse informaticist is a professional who integrates the nursing process, critical thinking, and clinical expertise with information to provide data.
This data facilitates the adoption of new processes and technologies that support and improve patient care.
The nurse informaticist serves as the primary liaison between end-users and information technology (IT).
They are responsible for training providers and staff on current electronic health record (EHR) use as well as new workflows and applications.
Nurses are often natural change agents and as such this person will work with direct care staff to analyze and improve workflows through the process of change management.
This person will be responsible for monitoring the clinical teams' use of the EHR to assist in improving patient outcomes, patient safety, and user satisfaction.

Use teamwork to perfect workflows and continuously strive for improved processes that provide patient care in the safest manner possible.
Today, technology is healthcare, clinical informaticists are the number one EHR operational resource for end-users.
The informaticists' goal is to have the EHR running smoothly-and efficiently, allowing for the best possible patient care to be provided and ensure end-user satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL Job Functions
Promote and own the mission, vision, and values of Pomerene Hospital with every encounter.
Provide EHR education, support end-user training including EHR training for new employees and contracted staff including providers.
Round on clinical and ancillary units several times a week, serve as a resource person for EHR operational issues, utilizing clinical expertise and knowledge of CPSI to assess and recommend enhancements to workflows.
Trouble shoot problems/errors in CPSI and contact CPSI support promptly if unable to resolve issue internally.
Work with CPSI to resolve issues and communicate timely with the end- users on resolutions, interim fixes, or delays.
Perform audits to monitor Promoting Interoperability (Pl) compliance.
Investigate/talk to clinicians when (Pl) scores are dipping.
Promptly setup and assign or remove role-based securities as they relate to CPSI use.
Investigate patient data across multiple applications to resolve discrepancies and/or improve workflow.
