The East Central Ohio ESC is seeking a part-time Tutor for the Orton-Gillingham Program.
This program combines multi-sensory techniques along with the structure of the English Language to help dyslexic or struggling readers achieve academic success.
Tutors in the Orton-Gillingham program use three learning pathways (auditory, kinesthetic and visual) to develop the literacy skills of students in a one-on-one setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree
Valid Ohio license or permit appropriate for the assignment
Completion of Orton-Gillingham training preferred
Record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
Previous teaching or tutoring experience preferred Responsibilities:The following duties and responsibilities are representative of performance expectations, but are not considered all inclusive.

Implements the principles of Orton-Gillingham instruction in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
Develops lesson plans in alignment with the Orton-Gillingham approach
Collaborates with school staff to develop positive relationships with students and align learning strategies with academic goals
Provides a positive learning environment for students requiring flexibility and patience
Analyzes student performance and provides reports on student progress
