Anticipated Opening for the 2024-2025 School Year Job Description General Statement: The Dean of Students is a full-time teaching contracted position that may have part time teaching duties as well as duties as directed by the Administration to assist the principal with the school's discipline program and supervision of students.
The successful candidate must be proficient in technology and be competent in assisting with state and local assessments.
The position works under the immediate supervision of the principal to supervise, direct, and discipline students consistent with the provisions of the Ohio Revised Code.
The position requires the use of independent judgment and discretion.
Reports to: Building Principal, Superintendent of Schools General Qualifications: Demonstrates an ability to develop good working relationships with other school employees Possesses the qualities to be professional, courteous, and flexible in dealing with students, parents, staff, and all other with whom he/she comes in contact Be able to make sound, common sense decisions after carefully securing and weighing in all available facts Be well organized, thorough, and efficient in the completion of all assigned duties Be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively in spoken and written communication Have integrity, sincerity, honesty, and a devotion to serving students and ensuring their overall safety and well-being Certification/Licensure Requirements: Current Ohio Teaching License required while an administrative license is preferred Specific Duties: Work professionally, cooperatively, and effectively with the building principal in meeting the needs of students and doing what is necessary and legal within the realm of school related issues/situations.
Duties will require working during the evening, weekend and/or before the school year begins and after school year ends as part of the extended days.
Duties include implementing and facilitating Positive Behavioral Supports within the PBIS Committee, Building Leadership Team and CARE Team.
Terms and Conditions: The Dean of Students shall be employed 200 days.
(185 day school year, plus 15 extended days).
Evaluation: The performance of the Dean of Students will be evaluated annually by the building principal or designated supervisor.
