AdministrationProvides the professional leadership for the faculty, staff, and studentsAttends management team and curriculum council meetingsEstablishes and maintains school rules by which faculty, staff and studentsare governed in accordance with Board Policy and administrative rulesand regulationsMaintains inventories of school property and ensures its proper usePromptly reports problems to the SuperintendentReports accidents on the appropriate formsDevelops written emergency plans and informs the staff of themConducts disaster and fire drills in accordance with state and localrequirementsMaintains and master calendar of school events and reports all events tothe SuperintendentMaintains school hours and schedules as set forth by the SuperintendentOrganizes the functions of the schoolAnalyze enrollments, building staff and instructional needs and makesrecommendations to the SuperintendentPrepares and presents to the Superintendent reports of regular teacherabsences and substitute teachers' employmentNotifies the Superintendent of absence and appoints a designeeAs appropriate, coordinate the activities of the schools in the systemSchedules teachers' duties for the proper supervision of studentsthroughout the school dayDevelops, in conjunction with the Superintendent, a working schedule forthe custodians and sees that the schedule is followedCollects all monies due to the Board from students, and deposits such withthe Treasurer in accordance with Board procedureSupervises preparation of all reportsAdministers the school's budgetConducts regular staff meetings for routine business and curriculum studyApproves requisitions for materials and supplies requested by faculty andstaffAssumes responsibility for interscholastic athletics and intramuralactivitiesB .
Curriculum and InstructionPromotes an effective instructional program for all studentsSupervises and evaluates the instructional and guidance programsAdvises parents of the availability of home instruction when there is theprobability that a student will be out of school for an extended period due to illness or disabilityAssists the Superintendent with the procedures for textbook adoptions andthe ordering of all textbooks and suppliesProvides procedures for securing and distributing appropriate books,supplies, equipment, and instructional materialsAlert staff to new developments in curriculum and instructionAssists teachers in improving their teaching capabilitiesReview teachers' weekly lesson plansC.
PersonnelAssists the staff in developing plans for achieving Board operatives anddefines their responsibilitiesSupervises and evaluates all personnelSchedules teachersAssigns duties to faculty and staff as may be necessary to the efficientadministration of the schoolWhen possible, interviews prospective teachersOrients new faculty and staffAssists teachers to resolve discipline problemsIdentifies areas of need for in-service and professional growthUpdates faculty in education developmentProvides for in-service when neededTreats staff professionallyPossesses confidence from staffUses appropriate disciplinary approaches when necessaryCreates atmosphere of good staff moraleD.
Pupil PersonnelProvides for the supervision of students by assigning duties to teachersthat are necessary to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the studentsCoordinates student activitiesTakes measures to maintain the proper conduct of students and enforcesdisciplineWhen necessary, suspend students and notify the parents, the Treasurer,and the Superintendent that such action has been taken and the reason for such actionPrepares a student handbookOversees the evaluation of student progressCooperates with the special services personnel and the Special EducationSupervisor in providing programs for special education studentsE.
School-CommunityCommunicates the philosophy, goals, and practices of the district andschool to the communityEncourages meetings of parents, teachers, and students of the benefit ofthe schoolAssists parent-teacher organizations in planning and implementingprogramsMaintains good public relationsConducts timely follow through of community/parent concernsF.
Physical PlantSupervises the school building and grounds and other areas used by thestudentsSees that the custodians have the materials and the maintenance supportnecessary for assuring proper care of the building and groundsCoordinates all activities involving the use of school facilities, buildingsand groundsMaintains a safe school environmentG.
OtherAssumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by theSuperintendentMeets predetermined leadership performance objectivesTerms of Employment: Salary, fringe benefits and work year to be established by the board.
Evaluation: Performance is evaluated annually by the Superintendent with the provisions of the Board's procedure on Evaluation and Professional Development.
