Basic Function:
To direct all operational, administrative, instructional, and financial activities of a designated academic program or student service function.
Reports to designated supervisor.
Additional Basic Function – if applicable:
Opportunity for innovative Academic Program Director in the College of Applied and Technical Studies associate degree nursing program at Kent State University at Tuscarawas.
Provides program leadership and management, faculty recruitment and assignment, student recruitment and advising.
Examples of Duties:
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Develop and market designated academic program or student service function.
Oversee university designated program budget.
Develop and/or revise program policies and procedures.
Identify and secure program funding opportunities.
Establish objectives and develop strategies for achieving objectives.
Evaluate and implement changes to programs.
Serve as liaison to various constituent groups relative to program activities.
Serve on various University committees.
Teach up to three 3-hour courses (or equivalent) per academic year if responsible for an academic program.
May provide leadership of a small department, unit, or major function and/or provide direct supervision over administrative/professional employees.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Assist in fiscal planning, program policy development and implementation, and curriculum.
The position is required to prepare all communication and reports for the accreditation commission for education in nursing and the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
Within the limits of authority and responsibility delegated to the Academic Program Director, the incumbent is responsible for all administrative and academic matters related to the nursing program on the regional campus to which they are assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in a relevant field and four years of relevant experience; eligible individuals must meet the required criteria for adjunct/part-time faculty status
License/Certification:
Knowledge Of:
Personal computer applications

Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability To:
Provide leadership and direction
Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:
Master’s degree in nursing preferred, Ph.
D.
preferred.
Current unrestricted licensure as a RN in Ohio.
Demonstrated competence in professional nursing setting as an educator and prior administrative experience preferred.
Prefer five years’ experience in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse, at least two of those years to include faculty experience in a prelicensure registered academic nursing education program.
Current active membership in at least one professional nursing organization.
