School Based Mental Health Counselor

Responsibilities: - Provide counseling services to students, including individual and group counseling sessions - Conduct data collection and analysis to assess student needs and track progress - Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement intervention plans - Assist with the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs - Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess students' academic, social, and emotional needs - Provide crisis intervention and support to students in need - Collaborate with outside agencies and community resources to provide additional support for students - Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with HIPAA regulations - Participate in professional development activities to stay current on best practices in school counseling Skills: - Strong knowledge of child and family counseling techniques - Familiarity with medical terminology related to mental health and special education - Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum - Proficiency in conducting diagnostic evaluations and assessments - Knowledge of applied behavior analysis principles - Excellent case management skills, including coordinating services and resources for students - Ability to assess patient needs and develop appropriate treatment plans Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
