Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, Security/Parking, the Dispatcher Security is responsible for protecting patients, visitors, employees, and hospital property by coordinating and addressing the Security Dispatch Office activities and responsibilities.
Dispatcher assists the Protective Services Department with communication and documentation of incidents on clinic property.

We can be the first or last contact a patient or visitor has with the clinic and provide professional Law Enforcement and Security services that meet the clinic standard.

Responsibilities:
Receives calls and requests for service and formulates correct response.
Regulates radio traffic by dispatching calls and relaying information.
Answers questions and gives directions to visitors, staff and patients.
Monitors hospital activity on closed circuit television to be alerted to any escalating situations or unusual activity that may require Security involvement and responds appropriately.
Implements procedures for emergency situations such as fire, disaster, infant abduction, tornado, bomb threat, etc.

Manual.
Completes appropriate and accurate documentation for Dispatch Logs, equipment logs, helipad logs, lost and recovered property, patient valuables, occurrence reports, etc.
Maintains knowledge of operation of access control systems.
Maintains knowledge of all alarm systems and appropriate responses.
Promotes customer service excellence.
Follows hospital and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.

Education:
High school graduate.
Certifications:
None required
Complexity of Work:
Proficient in the use of computer software.
Basic typing/data entry skills.
Ability to speak clearly over Security radio system.
Ability to quickly dispatch personnel in escalating situations.
Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize requests and tasks simultaneously.
Good visual acuity to monitor Security screens continuously.
Work Experience:
Previous security and/or dispatch experience preferred.
Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to effectively communicate with patients visitors physicians volunteers and staff in a professional manner and under stressful situations.
