This position will be part of the Maintenance team whose primary responsibility will be Mechanical and Electrical maintenance and repairs for our cheese production facility.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing duties assigned to them, including electrical work and mechanical work, which is needed to maintain the proper functioning of our production line and upkeep to our facility.
Candidate is expected to uphold and represent Guggisberg’s vision values and standards of quality.
Pay is based on experience.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities* *The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:* * Maintenance experience preferred but willing to train over time.
* Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn * Quick thinker and able to adapt to any situation * Able to maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations * Team oriented * Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment * Able to effectively troubleshoot to find a solution * Able to follow a schedule for repairs set by the Maintenance Supervisor that will allow production to continue to flow * Assist other members of the maintenance team with repairs when needed * Make wire runs and connections to equipment * Install and Repair of Electrical and Mechanical Equipment * Mechanical and Building maintenance * Other duties as assigned * Adhering to safety programs * Performing a wide range of maintenance duties in the production area and non-production areas.
* Light maintenance duties will include but are not limited to changing light bulbs and ballasts * Following a preventative maintenance program * Seal changes on centrifugal pumps mixed proof valves * Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting or repairing them * Documenting all completed work * Removal, cleaning, and reinstallation of duct socks in production area * Monitoring air systems and replacing furnace filters when needed * Reading and interpreting safety and employment manuals, and other work-related documents * Complying with safety regulations, maintaining clean and orderly facility * Performing other work-related duties as assigned *Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)* * Possess basic knowledge of workplace safety procedures including chemical safety * Must be highly motivated and able to work independently * Possess effective verbal and written communication skills * Must be organized and able to prioritize and multi-task * Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Excel and Word * Thorough knowledge and experience pertaining to electrical work, including 240V and 480V * Experience with pumps, pneumatics, welding, fabrication, control panels, electric motors * Must be able to climb and work safely at heights *Preferred Qualifications* * Electrician Certification * PLC Troubleshooting * CNC Troubleshooting * Metal Fabrication/Welding experience * Pneumatics * Experience with 110, 240 and 480-volt 3 phase * TIG welding experience *Physical Demands and Work Environment* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Other hazards may include, but are not limited to, cuts from knives, slipping, tripping, falls and burns.
The employee is frequently required to sustain contact and immersion of hands in water and sanitation solutions and is frequently expected to wash their hands.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and requires hearing protection.
